Welcome to the website of Shiloh Evangelical Lutheran Church in York, Pennsylvania.  We are located at the corner of Carlisle and Church Roads at 2201 Church Rd.

Our congregation in 2016 is 135 years old and has a great history in York County. We began as a union church with the Reformed Church congregation in Shiloh.  While we separated several years ago, we still continue our relationship with our brothers and sisters at Shiloh United Church of Christ in the ownership and operation of our joint cemetery and we celebrate our past in a joint Thanksgiving Eve worship service each year.

I began my call at Shiloh in July 2006 and love this congregation, as I hope you may too.  We are an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregation and hold fast to the principal tenets of the Lutheran faith.  Our worship is liturgical meaning that worship has Biblical meaning in it's flow and includes rich music from hymnody as well as contemporary music from our several voice and bell choirs.

I am a native of York County but lived more than half of my life in Harrisburg where I worked for the government.  I am a second-career pastor having a career in managment auditing and accounting.  My undergraduate degree is from York College of Pennsylvania and my Masters of Divinity is from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg.

My gifts are preaching, worship, stewardship, and teaching which I use at Shiloh to empower the people to faithful service in Christ.  My greatest joy is seeing people grow in their gifts and faith stretching themselves to new and greater faith and service.  My hope for all people is to have a community of faith to be part of finding healing, love, acceptance and support for their lives. It can be a tough and often hostile world we live in today which is why more than ever we need the firm foundation of Jesus Christ in our lives to support and ground our lives.

I am an avid reader especially of historical novels, mysteries and biographies; enjoy all types of music from classical to rock and roll to contemporary Christian, the beach and ocean are my favorite vacation, and I enjoy movies.  I have recently become a scrapbook and card maker needing a creative hobby.  I live in Dover and enjoy working on my home making improvements. Friends and family keep me grounded and I am thankful for their love and companionship in my life.

I invite you to join us for worship on a Sunday morning and introduce yourself to me, I would love to get to know you and to have you get to know the people of Shiloh.

In Christ,

Pastor Kathy
